1. Delete your business account
Account deletion is handled by our support team on request - there is no self-service delete button in the app, so we can check for open orders or plans before closing the account.
- Email support@scantostar.com with the subject "Delete my account" from the email address registered on the account. If you signed up with a mobile number only, send the request from any email and include that mobile number; we will confirm with an OTP to it.
- We reply within 2 business days to confirm the request and tell you if anything blocks it (for example an unpaid Pay Later order or an undelivered QR stand).
- Your account is deactivated immediately on confirmation: you can no longer sign in, your QR review pages stop working, and active plans end without refund unless the Refund & Cancellation Policy says otherwise.
- 30-day grace period. If you change your mind within 30 days, email us and we restore everything. After 30 days the deletion below is carried out and cannot be undone.
2. What is deleted
- Your profile: name, email, mobile number, password hash, Google sign-in link, sessions and login history.
- Every business you registered: name, category, address, contact details, logo, review link, review-page tags and QR codes.
- Customer review submissions, private feedback and generated review text for those businesses.
- Analytics tied to you or your businesses (aggregate platform totals that cannot identify you may remain).
- Cart contents, saved shipping addresses and support conversations older than the retention below.
3. What we must keep, and for how long
- Invoices, orders and payment/refund records - 8 years, as required by Indian tax and accounting law (GST/Income-tax). They are kept in a restricted archive and used only for legal and audit purposes.
- Records needed to resolve an open dispute, chargeback or legal claim - until it is closed.
- Minimal security logs (IP address, timestamps) - up to 12 months.
Reviews your customers already posted on Google are on Google, not with us; deleting your Scan To Star account does not remove them.
4. Deactivate only your business, keep the account
There is no self-service delete button for a business. In the dashboard open the business and use "Request Deactivation". You can cancel the request any time before it is approved.
- Our team reviews the request and sends it on for approval.
- A senior administrator approves or rejects it. Nothing changes on your business until it is approved.
- Once approved, the business is deactivated: its public review page and QR code stop working and its details become read-only. Your login and your other businesses are not affected.
Deactivation takes the business offline but does not erase its data. To have a deactivated business and its review data erased, email support@scantostar.com; it is removed under the same rules as sections 2 and 3. To bring a deactivated business back online, contact support.
5. Customers: remove a review submission
If you scanned a QR code and want the rating, tags, text or private feedback you submitted deleted, email support@scantostar.com with the business name and approximate date and time. We do not hold your name or contact details, so we may ask for a detail from the submission to identify it.
6. Google account disconnection
You can also revoke Scan To Star's access from your Google Account permissions page at any time; this stops Google sign-in but does not by itself delete your Scan To Star account - use section 1 for that.
7. Timeline summary
- Request acknowledged: within 2 business days.
- Account deactivated: on confirmation.
- Data erased: 30 days after confirmation (grace period), except the records in section 3.
- Written confirmation of completion: emailed to you.
