1. No review gating
We do not filter customers by rating. A customer who gives 1 star sees the same "post on Google" option as a customer who gives 5 stars. A business may optionally invite private feedback from an unhappy customer, but that invitation never replaces or hides the option to post publicly. This is a fixed product rule, not a setting a business can change.
2. The customer writes and posts the review
- The AI draft is built only from what the customer selected and typed: their star rating, the tags they tapped, and any detail they wrote. It is instructed not to add facts, names, numbers or claims the customer did not give.
- The customer can edit every word, regenerate, shorten, or discard the draft.
- Posting happens on Google's own review form, in the customer's own Google account, after they copy the text and leave our page. Scan To Star has no access to that account and never submits anything to Google.
3. No incentives, no fake reviews
Businesses using Scan To Star agree (see the Terms of Service) that they will not:
- offer discounts, gifts, cashback, loyalty points or any other benefit in exchange for a review or for a particular rating;
- write reviews of their own business, or have staff, family, friends or agencies do so;
- use the platform to generate reviews for visits that did not happen;
- pressure a customer to change a rating.
We monitor for abuse patterns (for example, bursts of reviews from one device or network) and may suspend accounts, without refund, where we find them.
4. Balanced, honest wording
Drafts describe what the customer chose - including things that "could be better". A 2-star visit produces a 2-star review, not marketing copy. We do not write superlatives the customer did not choose.
5. Private feedback is optional and separate
If a customer types private feedback for the owner, it is stored for the business to act on and is never posted anywhere. It does not affect the customer's ability to post publicly.
6. What we do not control
Google decides what appears on a Business Profile. Google may hold, delay or remove reviews under its own policies, and we cannot request removal of a legitimate review on a business's behalf.
7. Report a concern
If you believe a business is using Scan To Star against this policy, or a review generated through us misrepresents you, email support@scantostar.com with the business name and details. We investigate every report.
